Huawei has officially launched two new Intel Core Ultra-powered notebooks in the Philippines – the 2024 models of the MateBook X Pro and the MateBook 14. Aside from better performance from new chips, both will come with OLED displays, lightweight bodies, and integration with the Huawei Super Device ecosystem.
The Huawei MateBook X Pro now comes with up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor with up to 32GB of RAM and up to 2TB of NVMe storage, making it suitable for heavier tasks. To maintain optimal performance, it uses shark fin fans to dissipate heat in extended use. It will be powered by a 70Whr battery that supports 65W USB-C charging.
Its display is a 14.2-inch 3120 x 2080 OLED touch screen running at 120Hz. Huawei has outfitted the device with two Thunderbolt 4 ports for additional displays or external GPUs. All its horsepower is contained within a 980g shell made out of magnesium alloy with a Morandi Blue finish.
The MateBook 14 comes with the same size OLED panel at 14.2 inches, but slightly reduces the resolution to 2880 x 1920. It will come with either an Intel Core Ultra 5 125H or a Core Ultra 7 155H, both of which has 16GB of RAM and a 1TB NVMe drive.
They will support the Huawei Super Device ecosystem as part of the MateBook series. This time, however, they are implementing AI to enhance productivity and connectivity. Tools include AI Noise Cancellation, AI Camera for conferencing, facial recognition, and eye correction, and AI Search for quick and accurate file searches. These are on top of the base Huawei Super Device features like collaboration on multiple devices for multitasking and streamlining of workflow.
