The Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro has officially landed in the Philippines. As with most of the brand’s products, both smartphones were made to bring extraordinary value to its customers by providing better performance and reduced costs.
The Realme 5 Pro comes with a 6.3-inch LTPS IPS Dewdrop Display with a FullHD+ resolution and Gorilla Glass 5. Its notched display hides a 16Mp f/2.0 IMX 471 selfie camera with AI Beautification and Smart Groufie.
The smartphone retains the diamond-cut design from its predecessors while upgrading the camera. The device now comes with a quad-camera setup composed of a 48MP f/1.79 Sony IMX 586 main shooter, and 8MP f/2.25 ultrawide, a 2MP f/2.4 macro, and a 2MP f/2.4 portrait.
The Realme 5 Pro runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 chip with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. The device gets its power from a 4,035mAh battery with VOOC 3.0 20W Fast Charging.
Though the Realme 5 has a larger 6.5-inch LTPS IPS Dewdrop display, the resolution has been dropped to 1600 x 720 since it is positioned a bit lower in the market. On its notch resides a 13MP f/2.0 front-facing camera.
Like the 5 Pro, the Realme 5 has a diamond cut design with quad cameras. The smartphone’s cameras are a 12MP f/1.8 main, an 8MP f/2.25 ultrawide, a 2MP f/2.4 macro, and a 2MP f/2.4 portrait.
The Realme 5 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 chipset with up to 4GB of RAM. Depending on the variant, the smartphone can have 32GB/64GB/128GB of internal storage that can be upgraded via a MicroSD slot.
It does have a larger 5,000mAh battery that should keep the smartphone busy until the next day. The Realme 5 is also Dust and Splash resistant, which is a nice addition for a budget smartphone.
