The Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) is gearing up for its 2024 edition from October 24 – 27 at the World Trade Center. The stage is set for yet another milestone for the show with 17 participating automotive brands – the highest number in its history. Before that, however, let’s take a look at the most important milestones of the event.
PIMS has been a platform for automotive launches in the Philippines. They were the first to unveil the first electric vehicle prototypes to arrive in the Philippines back in 2018. The event also showcased clean diesel technology in 2016 and hybrid electric vehicles that improved fuel efficiency standards in the country.
Its 5th show in 2014 attracted 90,000 attending. This year, PIMS aim to surpass this mark thanks to the support of the 17 automotive brands who will be participating at the event. Brands who are in the show include BMW, Changan, Chery, Daewoo, Ford, Foton, Honda, Hyundai, Isuzu, Jetour, Kia, Mazda, MG, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Suzuki, and Toyota.

PIMS has been a major contributor to driving consumer interest in new vehicle models. Over the years, it has helped boost automotive sales by introducing innovative products and financing solutions. A joint report by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) in August 2024 shows that the industry has had an annual vehicle sales of 304,765 units, a 10.3% increase from 276,215 unites during the same period in 2023.
