ACMobility will start charging its customers for EV charging this December. It was only a matter of time until they ended free charging for EV owners.
Starting December 12, 2024, they will implement a nominal fee of PhP 28.50 per kWh for AC charging and PhP 35 per kWh for DC charging across its EV stations in NCR. This has been approved by the Department of Energy to create a more sustainable and dependable charging network that EV owners can rely on.
“Introducing charging fees enables ACMobility to reinvest in our network, allowing us to maintain and expand our infrastructure while delivering a consistently high-quality service,” said Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala, Chief Executive Officer of ACMobility.
Payment for charging can be done via GCash and credit card through the Evro app.
In contrast, Shell imposes PhP 35 per kWh for 180kW ultra-rapid charging CCS2 connectors and PhP 28 per kWh for AC 22kW Type 2 connector chargers. However, they are still offering free charging on select locations for AC 22kW Type 2 charging.
SM are also still offering free charging to EV owners for Type 2 connectors at select malls.
