AMD has announced four new desktop CPUs for the AM4 platform in 2024. That’s right, they are continuing support for their last generation platform with new CPU entries. Among them is a new processor with a 3D V-Cache – the Ryzen 7 5700X3D.
The AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D is basically a cut-down version of the Ryzen 8 5800X3D. It still comes with an 8-core, 16-thread configuration but its clock speeds are slightly down to a base clock of 3.0GHz and a maximum boost clock of 4.1GHz. Its 3D V-Cache enables to it to have 100MB of total cache for boosted performance.
Other entrants in the new range are budget-oriented choices for gamers with 65W TDP. The Ryzen 7 5700 is a nerfed version of the Ryzen 7 5700X3D with the same core count at higher frequencies but without the 3D V-Cache. Both the Ryzen 5 5600GT and 5500GT are 6-core, 12-thread CPUs with 19MB of total cache with boost speeds of up to 4.6GHz and 4.4GHz, respectively.
