AMD has unveiled the new Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT GPUs. Built on the RDNA 4 architecture, these cards are set to take on the Green Team’s midrange offerings like the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070 and replacing their previous cards such as the 7900 GRE.
Both the AMD Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT now come with 64 and 56 AMD RDNA 4 Compute Units, respectively, which promise up to 40% higher gaming performance compared to comparable RDNA 3-based GPUs.
They are tackling Raytracing with their 3rd Generation Ray Tracing Accelerators that is able to deliver up to twice the Raytracing throughput of previous cards.
They are also introducing the ML-powered FSR 4 for improved upscaling with over 30 games supporting the feature at launch, and 75 more later this year. FSR promises improved image quality thanks to ML-accelerated upscaling algorithm. It also enables older games that supports FSR 3.1 games to be easily upgraded.
AMD is introducing HYPR-RX suite alongside the RX 9000 series. It includes AMD Radeon Super Resolution, AMD Fluid Motion Frames 2.1, AMD Radeon Anti-Lag, and AMD Radeon Boost, which can then be tailored to your hardware and preference to boost performance and efficiency.
