Details are still somewhat sparse for both Zen 3 and Big Navi. Based on what we know so far, Zen 3 will still be built on the 7nm lithography like Zen but will focus more on improving general performance increase.
While AMD has a significant presence in the CPU market thanks to its Ryzen processors, they are still playing catch up in the GPU game especially in the high-end space. Their roadmap suggests that their Big Navi/RDNA 2 GPUs will have a 50% increase in performance-per-watt compared to their RDNA-based GPUs like the RX 5700 XT.
Real-world performance for both Zen 3 and Big Navi devices are still unknown. Stay tuned until their release on October 8 and 28, respectively, in order to get the full rundown of their features.
