The iPhone 16E has officially joined the ranks of the iPhone 16 series. As the spiritual successor of the SE, the 16E is the most affordable of the series and will support Apple Intelligence.
The iPhone 16E is powered by the A18 chip – the same as the iPhone 16 and the iPhone 16 Plus. It only comes with a single 48MP camera at the back that supports what Apple calls “integrated 2x Telephoto,” which is the fanciest marketing term we’ve heard for digital zoom. It also comes with a customizable Action Button though Camera Control button have been omitted.
The device gets a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED screen with Ceramic Shield on top. It’s display is significantly larger than the 4.7-inch of the last iPhone SE. Apple says that despite the larger screen, it’s battery can last up to “12 hours longer than all generations of iPhone SE.” It will support both wireless charging and USB-C charging.
What’s new with the 16E is that it is Apple’s first device to come with an in-house modem called the C1. This modem also enables it to have satellite connectivity, Emergency SOS, Roadside Assistance, Messages, and Find My via Satellite – handy features to have in case of emergencies.
The iPhone 16E starts at PhP 39,990 in the Philippines for its 128GB storage model. 256GB and 512GB variants will come at an additional premium of PhP 46,990 and PhP 58,990, respectively. Apple is exclusively offering the 16E in White and Black colors.
You can now get the device via the official Apple website and authorized retailers nationwide.
