Apple Event Roundup: Everything Apple Announced during September 2017 Event

-

You’ve probably missed Apple’s Event today but we are here to help! Here’s everything Apple Announced at today’s iPhone Event.

Apple Watch Series 3

Tim Cook said that the Apple Watch has grown 50 percent over the previous year and it’s now the number one watch in the world. For the Watch Series 3, it now has an improved heart rate app and a feature that will notify you if you have an elevated heart rate.

The biggest announcement here is that it now has a built-in cellular so you can make a call and text without having your iPhone around. In addition, we’ll also get new bands and exclusive new colors.

It’s priced at $399 that you can pre-order on September 15.

Apple TV 4K

As the name suggests, Apple’s latest streaming box now comes with 4K HDR content and some needed performance boost. It’s packed with an A10X fusion chip that’s also found on the iPad Pro.

So far, 4K with HDR is available on iTunes from 20th Century Fox, Lionsgate, Paramount, and more. And for the time being, 4K films will be the same price as HD. If you purchased an HD movie recently, Apple’s going to upgrade your purchase to the 4K version, free.

Live sports, tighter integration with Photos and HomeKit, and thousands of games and apps on the App Store round out the experience.

The 32GB Apple TV 4K will set you back $179, $199 for the 64GB.

iPhone 8 and 8 Plus

The second most-awaited product for Apple. The iPhone 8 will feature three color options: space gray, silver and an all-new gold finish. It also has a new glass back that promises 50 percent deeper strengthening layer.

Powering Apple’s newest iPhone is the A11 Bionic chip, a 6-core CPU with 64-bit performance. It also has a 3-core GPU which stands to benefit the upgrade to Metal 2 in macOS High Sierra for better gaming.

As for the camera, it has an all new 12-megapixel sensor with advanced color filters that provide better color saturation and deeper pixels with HDR. There’s also a new Portrait mode called Portrait Lighting that adds lighting effects like studio or natural light. Videos now offer 4K capabilities and 240 fps slow motion.

With the glass back, Apple also introduced wireless charging that’s partnered with Qi.

Both new iPhones are available in 64GB and 256GB versions. The former starts at $699, while the latter runs $799. You can preorder them this Friday, September 15.

iPhone X

Tim Cook described the iPhone X as “the biggest leap forward since the original iPhone.”

iPhone X also features the new Super Retina Display. It’s 5.8-inches, with 2436 x 1125 resolution, and 458 ppi — the highest pixel density in an iPhone, ever. The OLED screen has great contrast, it’s thin, and offers some of the best resolution on any flagship device.

Dolby Vision, 3D Touch, and over 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio make this device a sight to behold. Behind this gorgeous screen is a tap to wake feature that gives you a new way to wake the iPhone, a much-needed feature since iPhone X no longer has a Home button. With an edge-to-edge screen, though, it’s a worthy tradeoff.

As for Siri, there’s a larger button on the side to wake her, or you could always just use “Hey Siri” to summon her with your voice.

But what about the fingerprint sensor? Well, you don’t need it anymore. Face ID needs only to look at you to unlock your device, no fingerprints required.

The new FaceID is quite advanced compared to the current facial recognition of other smartphones because Apple literally used a neural engine to make sure that they are accurate and will not be spoofed by a picture or any mask. It’s also adaptable and can be used during the day or night. Heck, you can even wear glasses or hats and it will still recognize you.

As far as cameras, the iPhone X features two 12MP sensors as well as the same tuning for AR and lighting features of the iPhone 8, including Portrait Lighting on the front-facing camera. If that gets you excited to take more selfies, it gets even better: Portrait Mode now works with the front-facing shooter as well.

If you’re worried about a hit to battery life, don’t be. Apple claims the iPhone X has two hours of additional battery life than the iPhone 7.

The iPhone X comes in two sizes: 64GB and 256GB. It starts at $999.

What do you think of Apple’s iPhone event? We were not surprised as it was leaked all over the place. But still, these are great things for Apple and we are very excited to get our hands on the new iPhone X.
