Apple iPad Pro (2020) launches with A12Z Bionic, dual rear cameras, and LiDAR

Apple is refreshing their iPad Pro with the 2020 series. Though the last iPad Pro was last released back in 2018, the new refresh comes with a ton of improvements such as a more powerful chip, dual rear cameras, Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR), and a new Magic Keyboard with trackpad.

The latest addition on the iPad Pro (2020) are its dual cameras composed of a 12MP main camera and a 12MP ultrawide shooter. The device will also have a LiDAR scanner that measures its distance to surrounding objects up to 5 meters away.

Working together with both its cameras and motion sensors as well as its new A12Z Bionic chip, Apple is promising better Augmented Reality experiences with the iPad Pro.

The Apple iPad Pro (2020) will be available in two sizes: an 11.0-inch model with a resolution of 2388 x 1668 and a 12.9-inch variant at 2388 x 2048. Despite the difference in display sizes, both screens are Liquid Retina with support for ProMotion, TrueTone, and DCI-P3.

Shipping with the latest iPad Pro refresh is the new Magic Keyboard. The accessory magnetically attaches to the iPad Pro to give off a floating design whenever the device is connected. The Magic Keyboard’s scissor keys allow for 1mm of travel and also comes with an integrated trackpad at the bottom. The iPad Pro (2020) will also support the second generation Apple Pencil and an updated Smart Folio.

Both variants of the iPad Pro (2020) are now available to order via Apple’s website. The 11.0-inch version is available starting PhP 47,990 while the 12.9-inch model can be bought starting at PhP 59,990.
