The Apple iPhone 16 and 16 Plus have officially launched alongside the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max. Aside from generational changes like a new chip, both now come with a camera button.
As tradition, both the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus share the same hardware aside from the size of their XDR screens with the former sizing in at 6.1 inches and the latter at 6.7 inches.
They now come with the new 3nm Apple A18 chipset that comes with a six-core CPU, a 16-core neural engine for Apple Intelligence, and a five-core GPU that supports ray tracing. Apple claims that its CPU and GPU are 30% and 40% faster compared to last generation, respectively, while gaining 35% efficiency
The iPhone 16 series will come with a dust- and water-resistant chassis. They will come with a camera control key that supports swipe gestures to zoom in and out of the frame. As for their cameras, the 16 and 16 Plus come with a 48MP main camera and a 12MP ultrawide camera with autofocus and macro support.
Thanks to its neural engine, the new iPhone series will support Apple Intelligence. One of the highlight features of is the new Clean Up tool that enables you to remove objects in the background of a photo much like AI Eraser tools on Android devices.
Apple Intelligence will come as part of a software update available in its beta next month with iOS 18.1.
The Apple iPhone 16 is priced starting at PhP 54,990 in the Philippines while the iPhone 16 Plus starts at PhP 62,990. They are giving you several colorways to choose from including Ultramarine, Teal, Pink, White, and Black.
Several storage options are available. The iPhone 16 will get 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB variants priced at PhP 54,990, PhP 61,990, and PhP 73,990. The iPhone 16 Plus will also get the same storage models with priced set at PhP 62,990, PhP 69,990, and PhP 81,990.
