Today, during Samsung’s Galaxy S6 keynote, Apple launched a new advertising campaign. It highlights photos shot by users around the world on the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.

Instead of using marketing images and pictures owned by Apple, they went out and found the best shots taken on the iPhone by everyday people. They gathered pictures from all corners of the world shot only with the iPhone 6 and collated them into a beautiful gallery and details on what kind of apps were used to capture and edit the shot.

According to Buzzfeed, Apple personally approached users who uploaded the images to sites like Flickr and Instagram and asked for their permission to use them. Some images will be used in billboards around the world.

The pictures Apple has chosen show just how powerful their phone cameras have evolved. The days where you had to carry a DSLR to capture those amazing moments are long gone, now all you need is what’s in your pockets.

The iPhone 5s still tops the most popular camera over DSLRs, while iPhone 6 is starting to gain momentum.
