Apple is refreshing the iPhone SE range with the iPhone SE 2020. Packing the latest internals such as a the A13 Bionic chip as well as an IP67 rating, Apple’s latest and most “affordable” iPhone revives a more simpler design reminiscent of previous entries in Apple’s coveted smartphone lineup.
While most smartphone today are pushing larger displays to the consumers, the Apple iPhone SE 2020 comes with a 4.7-inch Retina IPS display with a 1334 x 750 resolution. Instead of a notch or a punch-hole, the 7MP f/2.2 front-facing camera rests on the screen’s top bezel.
The iPhone SE 2020’s rear sticks to a simple design language as well. Aside from the Apple logo, the back houses only a single 12MP f/1.8 camera with PDAF and OIS alongside an LED Flash for those less-than-ideal photo moments.
The largest upgrade of the iPhone SE 2020 from its predecessor and previous iPhones’ is the A13 Bionic chip, which is the same chip powering the Apple iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max. The improved chipset also allows the device to capture 4K60fps videos and cinematic video stabilization.
As usual, Apple did not reveal the actual size of the iPhone SE 2020’s battery. They say that battery life should last as long as the iPhone 8. You can charge the smartphone via an 18W Fast Charging wired connection or via Qi Wireless Charging.
