Apple outs MacBook Air (2018)

It’s that time of the year for Apple to refresh their MacBook Air notebooks. This time around, Apple is introducing the MacBook Air (2018) model with a 13.3-inch Retina display, built-in Touch ID on the keyboard, and Intel’s Coffee Lake processor.

The MacBook Air (2018) now comes with Apple’s 13.3-inch Retina display that’s capable of displaying 4 million pixels thus making text and images look crisp. The brand says that the latest display on the MacBook Air (2018) can display 48% more color than the previous generation MacBook Air.

Security options on the MacBook Air (2018) has been bolstered by Apple by including Touch ID. This essentially acts as a fingerprint sensor built into the keyboard. This will allow its users to authenticate identity and make secure purchases via Apple Pay.

Aside from Touch ID, Apple has also implemented a new Apple T2 Security Chip, which allows the notebook to protect Touch ID information as well as data encryption for the internal SSD.

To power the MacBook Air (2018), Apple has equipped the notebook with an Intel Core i5 Coffee Lake processor with Intel UHD Graphics as well as up to 16GB of RAM with a 2133MHz clock speed. As far as storage go, the notebook can be decked by up to 1.5TB of SSD storage.

The MacBook Air (2018) now comes with macOS Mojave right out of the box. Apple promises it to be to come with the latest additions such as a new Dark Mode, new Stacks, while still maintaining familiar iOS apps.

The MacBook Air (2018) is now available via the official Apple website. Two SKUs are now available for PhP 74,990 and PhP 86,990 for the 128GB and 256GB model, respectively. The MacBook Air (2018) can be purchased with Space Gray, Gold, and Silver color options.
