Apple is now reportedly working for to battle its competitor Amazon echo to give consumers a Siri-powered speaker for their homes. And that’s not all, apple is also rumored to open Siri up to third-party apps so developers can finally make use to their voice assistant. The rumors are saying that an Echo rival is more of a longterm project while releasing Siri software development kit is more likely to come first. With this said, the Siri SDK will be likely to arrive as early as June during Apple’s annual WWDC conference. While some third-party companies have already gained access to Siri (like Yelp), they’ve only done in a special way to for that own app.
The Siri speaker has been in development since long before the arrival of its competitor, Amazon Echo. Some rumors confirm that the features include an ability to turn on and off any appliance supported by Apple’s HomeKit platform and perform tasks that are associated with automated bots just like Facebook’s M assistant.
