Here’s a news that we haven’t heard of: Apple is not going with the traditional two-year iPhone cycle. This is according to the Wall Street Journal so it’s a reliable source. With this, don’t expect a revolutionary change from this year’s iPhone. The good news is that 2017’s iPhone would be twice as awesome.
Think about it, Apple will have their 10th iPhone anniversary, they wouldn’t want it to be another iPhone 7S — an improvement of the previous one. They are most likely to release a brand-new iPhone with all the cool new features and maybe an awesome OLED screen.
The 2016 iPhones are rumored to maintain most of the same feature set as the current models, 4.7 and 5.5-inch screens. The most notable difference would be is that the iPhone will no longer have the headphone jack that will make the device more thinner and a better water resistance. Still not IP certified, though.
With the headphone jack gone, expect that the phone will include a Lightning-to-3.5mm connector for your earphones.
With Apple breaking the trend of making a numbered iPhone and going for the S model after, I’m sure you’re wondering — “What’s the point of making an iPhone this year?”. Well, sales of course. I’m pretty sure that the big Apple will still be making a lot of sales at the end of the year, thanks to you Apple fanboys.
The real question here is what will be the name of the iPhone this year? iPhone 6SE? iPhone 6.5? or better yet, iPhone 6S.S? Will know soon enough.
