ASUS definitely takes innovations seriously. With the success of the Zenfone shipping 1.6M units a month, ASUS chairman Jonney Shih introduces the new Zenfone 2 with jaw dropping specifications. To summarize, the Zenfone 2 is equipped with the latest 64-bit Intel Atom Z3580 2.3Ghz Quad-Core processor which is said to be 2-3x better in graphics and CPU performance compared to octa-core and quad core competitors. Plus the new Zenfone 2 is now finally LTE and the 1st smartphone in the world with 4GB RAM!
The new Zenfone 2 sports a 5.5inch Full HD display with 72% screen-to-body ratio. Front facing 5mp and rear 13mp Pixel Master camera with ASUS enchancements.
ASUS takes their Pixel master technology with better color and HDR functions which they promote to be better than all flagship phones in the market. HDR Pixel Master is 400% better contrast and color and the Auto mode gives better color and accuracy compared to competitors.
ASUS also introduces rapid charging technology that can reach 60% in 39 minutes. Which is faster than leading smartphones in the market like the G2, Galaxy S5, HTC M8 and iPhone 6.
The brand new Zen UI now features gestures like writing letters on the screen to launch applications, shaking and tilting to do certain tasks. Better personalization with better color options. Plus security features that can have two accounts for guest to use. They also took consideration for kids with their own friendly version UI.
The latest Zenfone 2 will be available by March 2015 which we estimate around April for Philippines. Suggested for $199 we estimate the price of the Zenfone 2 to be around Php9,995 which will be definitely not bad for flagship specifications. If our guess is right on the price 🙂
Oh by the way, the colors will be available in Black, White, Red, Gray and Gold. Seems ASUS shoves away to the colorful colors for now, perhaps its a sign that luxury can’t mix with all colors.
