ASUS will be officially be upgrading select smartphones on their lineup to Android 12. The update will include devices such as the ASUS ROG Phone 3 and ZenFone 7 series or higher.
The Android 12 for ASUS’ smartphones will start with the ZenFone 8 series this coming December. The ROG Phone 5 and 5s lineup will receive their updates starting the first quarter of 2022 while the ZenFone 7 and ROG Phone 3 series are expected to get the updated within the first half of 2022.
ASUS’ Android 12 update will introduce major functional changes brought by the OS and will inherit features such as battery and performance management features. ZenFone models will receive ZenUI-specific changes that allow easier navigation, streamlined control panels, increased visibility, and more customization options.
The brand has already recruited select ZenFone 8 users for the Android 12 beta program to help identify and fix bugs based on user experience before the final rollout starting December.
