ASUS has announced several variants of the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 and 1650 Super graphics cards. These new cards spans their range of ROG Strix, TUF Gaming, and Phoenix product lines to deliver the best performance at a given price point.
The top of the line in its range, the ASUS ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1660 and 1650 Super comes with the brand’s trademark DirectCU II cooling. This cooling system puts copper heatpipes into direct contact with the GPU die for better thermals.
The heatsink is cooled by two Axial fans to deliver better static pressure while minimizing noise. Of course, higher cooling will most allow the GPUs to deliver faster clock speeds. For good measure, ASUS has also thrown in a backplate for added durability.
The ASUS TUF GeForce GTX 1660 and 1650 Super are positioned just a bit lower than its ASUS ROG Strix brothers but that doesn’t mean that they are less capable. The two cards come with DirectCU cooling as well as a backplate to prevent PCB flex.
As part of the TUF Range, these cards are IP5X dust-resistant and is put through a battery of validation tests to ensure that both cards endure the roughest of elements.
Both the ASUS Phoenix GeForce GTX 1660 and 1650 Super have been designed to deliver the best performance without breaking the bank. These cards come with the patented ASUS Wing-blade design to produce ample airflow and performance.
At this time, ASUS has only announced the availability of two cards: the ASUS TUF Gaming X3 GTX 1660 (TUF 3-GTX1660S-O6G-Gaming) and the ASUS Phoenix GeForce GTX 1660 OC (PH-GTX1660S-O6G).
The ASUS TUF Gaming X3 GTX 1660 is now available for retail for PhP 16,180 while the ASUS Phoenix GeForce GTX 1660 for PhP 13,460. The rest of the GeForce GTX 1660 and 1650 Super video cards will be available worldwide starting November 22, 2019.
