ASUS outs Prime, TUF Gaming, and ROG series Z590 motherboards

The 500-series platform has been officially announced alongside Intel’s quick teaser of their upcoming Rocket Lake-S processors. Of course, their partner brands will be releasing their own take for the platform and one of cxtremourse at the forefront is ASUS, which unveiled a total of 10 Z590 motherboards.

The pack of ASUS Z590 motherboards include the ROG Maximus XIII Extreme series, ROG Z590-E Gaming, TUF Gaming Z590 Plus WiFi, and the ASUS Prime Z590-A. All these boards encompass different price categories but is able to house the upcoming 11th Generation Rocket Lake-S processors and are backwards compatible with last year’s 10th Generation Comet Lake-S CPUs. The Z590 platform will now officially support PCIe 4.0 for larger bandwidth pools for GPUs that support it as well as PCIe 4.0 SSDs.

The ROG Maximus XIII Extreme packs a whopping 18 +2 power stage design with the brand’s OptiMem III design. It also comes with five m.2 slots with heatsinks and embedded backplates as well as support for Thunderbolt 4.0 and 10Gb Ethernet. It is also capable of taking advantage of AI for seamless overclocking, cooling, networking, and AI Noise cancellation. The Extreme Glacial shares most of these features but the armor has been improved by an integrated EK water block.

Just below the Extreme series are the ROG Maximus XIII Hero and ROG Strix Z590-E. Both boards come with a 14 + 2 power stage configuration, OptiMem III, and four m.2 slots with heatsinks. AI functionality is preserved although only the Maximus XIII Hero will have out-of-the-box support for Thunderbolt 4.

If you want something more wallet-friendly, you can look at the TUF Gaming Z590 Plus WiFi and the Prime Z590-A. These two boards are equipped with 14 + 2 DrMOS power stages and OptiMem II. Both have heatsinks for the VRM with the latter having a much beefier cooling solution for its VRMs.
