ASUS outs ROG, TUF, and Dual GeForce RTX 3000 series cards

ASUS has announced their take on NVIDIA’s RTX 3090, RTX 3080, and RTX 3070 cards. As usual, they will be introducing three variants on each card tier: the ROG, TUF, and Dual cards to give the most performance possible on every price range.

ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3000 Series

The ROG Strix cards have received quite a redesign this generation. The latest generation ROG cards now come with a new shroud with metal accents. It has three axial fans with the middle having 13 blades to provide boosted static pressure through the heatsink fins and onto the GPU heat spreader. The other two fans come with 11 blades and half-height barrier rings to allow for more lateral dispersion as well as provide better airflow.

The heatsink itself has now been expanded to fill most of the card’s 2.9-slot footprint and increase airflow. The heat spreader on these cards have now been polished further to improve smoothness at the microscopic level. This flat surface allows for better contact with the die for enhanced thermal transfer.

In addition to the better thermal solution and new design, the ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3000 series cards will still be using the brand’s FanConnect II headers, Super Alloy Power II for power, as well as Dual BIOS switching.

ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3000 Series

The new TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3000 series cards has been rebuilt in order to provide more performance and cooling. Cards in this range now come with an all-metal shroud with three axial-tech fans with dual ball fan bearings. Fans are now better optimized for reducing turbulence and quiet.

As with all components with the TUF branding, TUF GPUs and their chokes and MOSFETs meet military-grade certification for utmost endurance. Cards are subjected to a 144-hour validation trial in order to ensure flawless performance regardless of the condition.

Most of the rear of the RTX 3000 series cards under the TUF branding has a protective metal backplate with a wide vent. This not only supports the card but allows hot air to escape towards the chassis instead of being recycled back into the GPU. A Dual BIOS switch is also present to switch to and from different performance profiles.

ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 3000 Series

The budget-block buster from ASUS, the Dual series will initial debut a single card at first: the RTX 3070. Packing dual fans for additional cooling, a clean shroud offers a neat aesthetic fit for minimalist builds.

Its two axial fans provide enough airflow for cooling while retaining the ability to stop if temperatures are low enough. Its Auto-Extreme technology reduces thermal strain on components while an aluminum backplate and stainless I/O bracket protects the PCB from unwanted flex.

Price and Availability

The ASUS ROG Strix, TUF Gaming, and Dual NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3000 series cards will be available worldwide this month. Local pricing and availability are yet to be announced.
