As expected, the ROG Scar II and Hero II notebooks from ASUS has been updated to NVIDIA’s latest RTX cards to deliver even better gaming experience to its users.
ASUS ROG Strix Scar II
Designed for shooters, the ASUS ROG Strix Scar II comes in two variants: the ASUS ROG GL504 15.6-inch model and the ASUS ROG GL704 17.3-inch version. Both variants, aside from the screen size, shares a 1920 x 1080 display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a 3ms response time. ASUS ROG has highlighted the WASD keys to let gamers now that the notebook’s roots lie in the FPS genre.
Inside the ASUS ROG Scar II is still Intel’s Coffee Lake platform although the GPU has been upgraded to NVIDIA’s RTX series of graphics cards. Depending on the configuration, the Scar II can have an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 or, for more serious gamers, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070.
ASUS ROG Strix Hero II
With a focus on MOBAs, the ASUS ROG GL504 Strix Hero II now highlights the QWER row instead of the WASD cluster for easier identification of hotkeys. Like its FPS brother, the Hero II still comes with Intel’s Coffee Lake platform but has an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GPU for better rendering and faster frame rates in games.
ASUS expects that the ASUS ROG Strix Scar II and Strix Hero II will become available in the first quarter of 2019. Prices and complete configurations will follow soon.
