ASUS Republic of Gamers announced today at CES 2019 their new range of Strix XG HDR gaming monitor lineup. This new trio of FreeSync 2 HDR monitors were built for high-refresh rate and stutter-free gaming.
ASUS ROG Strix XG438Q
Starting off with the flagship of the Strix XG HDR range, the ASUS ROG Strix XG438Q. As the name suggests, the monitor comes with a 43-inch screen with a Vertical Alignment (VA) panel that’s capable of 4K UHD 3840 x 2160 resolutions at 120Hz making it essentially a budget version of the ASUS ROG Swift PG27UQ.
Being DisplayHDR 600 compliant, the ASUS ROG Strix XG438Q comes with support for 90% DCI-P3 coverage, a typical brightness of 450cd/m2, as well as a response time of 4ms.
ASUS ROG Strix XG32VQR
Like its siblings, the ASUS ROG Strix XG32VQR comes with a 31.5-inch 16:9 VA panel with a 2560 x 1440 resolution, 144Hz refresh rate and 4ms response time. The monitor also has the largest coverage of the DCI-P3 color space of 94%.
ASUS ROG Strix
First spotted in Malaysia last year, the ASUS ROG Strix XG49VQ will finally make its entrance into the market. With a massive 49-inch panel with an aspect ratio of 32:9 for a total resolution of 3840 x 1080m the XG49VQ is essentially two 1080p displays fused together.
Despite its massive display, the monitor is still able to reach refresh rates of up to 144Hz and a response time of 4ms. The monitor’s VA panel is also DisplayHDR 400 compliant and supports 90% coverage of DCI-P3.
