ASUS has officially launched in the Philippines their most powerful gaming smartphone yet: the ASUS ROG Phone 3. Packing a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chip, up to 16GB of RAM, and UFS 3.1 storage, the device will come in three variants to fit the budget of every gamer.

The ASUS ROG Phone 3 improves quite a bit from its predecessor. At the front is a 6.59-inch AMOLED display at 2340 x 1080 with a 144hz refresh rate and 1ms response time. The screen supports HDR10+ and can produce brightness of up to 1000nits at its peak. A Gorilla Glass 6 is applied on top to protect it to any kind of scratches or marks while playing.

Two stereo speakers powered by GameFX from Dirac are located at the top and bottom of the display to immerse you while playing. The third iteration of the ROG Phone’s AirTriggers do make their comeback on the ROG Phone 3 to allow players to bind controls in to have a more tactile gaming experience.

The vanilla ASUS ROG Phone 3 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ that can run up to 3.1GHz while its Strix Edition has Snapdragon 865 clocking in at 2.84GHz. ASUS is implementing their 3rd generation GameCool system that uses a larger heatsink and a redesigned 3D vapor chamber to keep either chips cool.

Storage has been upgraded to UFS 3.1. Wireless connectivity keeps up with the trend with the devices now having Dual-band 802.11ax, 5G capabilities, and Bluetooth 5.1.

As for its cameras, both the vanilla version and Strix Edition will come with a 24MP f/2.0 selfie camera at the back. At the back, meanwhile, is a Sony IMX686-powered 64MP f/1.8 main shooter, a 13MP f/2.4 ultrawide, and a 5MP f/2.0 macro lens.

These devices run on Android 10 with ROG UI and gets their power from a 6,000mAh battery. Two USB ports at the bottom and on the side can be used for its 30W Fast Charging. To keep the battery from getting flat from use, custom charging limits can now be used to charge the smartphone slowly while simultaneously keeping its temperature down.
