ASUS Republic of Gamers has finally unveiled the ASUS ROG Phone II. Designed to be succeed the ROG Phone, the new ROG Phone II comes with improved internals, screen, and a massive battery to keep playing for even longer.

While it shares the same design philosophy as the ROG Phone, the imaginatively named ROG Phone II comes with a tons of improvements. Right off the bat, the smartphone now comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+. Its new chip is specially binned to have higher clock speeds compared to other Snapdragon 855+ chips in the market.

To cool the raging chipset under its chassis, ASUS ROG is implementing its new GameCool II cooling system. The brand has developed an improved 3D vapor chamber that further cools the processor. In addition, the AeroActive Cooler II’s noise has been toned down to just 24dBA — four times quieter than the original design.

Aside from the faster chip, the ASUS ROG Phone II also comes with 12GB of RAM, which will allow gamers to play all games without much of a hassle and even run a lot of programs in the background.

The display has been upgraded as well. The ROG Phone II now comes with a 6.59-inch AMOLED 2340 x 1080 display with Corning Gorilla Glass 6. Its screen also has 10-bit HDR support, DCI-P3, and is capable of producing 600nits of brightness.

The ASUS ROG Phone II stores all its games and files in a 512GB UFS 3.0 internal storage. The smartphone runs Android 9.0 Pie with ROG UI. The device is also capable of 4.6Gbps with WiGig thanks to its support for 802.11ad.

The device gets its power from a massive 6,000mAh battery. It sounds that the smartphone may take a long time to recharge its large battery but ROG has implemented 30W Fast Charging to help with shorten wait times.

As with its previous iteration, the ASUS ROG Phone II is compatible with several accessories such as the ROG WiGig Display Dock Plus, Mobile Desktop Dock, and ROG Kunai GamePad.
