Unveiled in CES 2019, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus S GX701 has now arrived in the Philippines. The latest addition in the Zephyrus series is now powered by the latest NVIDIA RTX-video cards and manages to fit in a 17.3-inch screen in a 15.6-inch chassis.
The party piece of the ASUS ROG Zephyrus S GX701 is its screen. ASUS has managed to fit a 17.3-inch screen in a 15.6-inch body. The larger 17.3-inch AHVA screen runs natively at 1920 x 1080 with a 3ms response time.
As the flagship of the Zephyrus range, the display also comes with NVIDIA G-SYNC for a tear-free gaming experience. Aside from gaming features, ASUS has added a bit of professional flair on the screen.
The screen can now display 100% sRGB color space and is Pantone Validated. This means that color-accurate tasks such as video editing and photo work.
Inside the ASUS ROG Zephyrus S GX701 is a Coffee Lake-based Intel Core i7-8750H with up to 24GB of DDR4 RAM running at 2666MHz. As for storage, the notebook can be specced to have a 1TB NVMe Pcie 3.0 x4 SSD.
Depending on the model, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus S GX701 can have an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2019 MaxQ, an RTX 2070, or an RTX 2060. This new batch of GPUs on the notebook will enable NVIDIA-exclusive graphics settings in games such as real-time ray-tracing and DLSS.
ASUS is using an improved version of their Active Aerodynamic System (AAS) to cool down the top-tier components inside. Working together with its self-cleaning fans, quad heatsinks, and 5 copper pipes, the GX701 is able to cool itself by up to 32% better compared to traditional designs.
As usual, RGB lighting has been thrown in to complete the gaming experience. Unlike previous models, however, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus S GX701 is now able to do per-key lighting on its keyboard as well as AURA SYNC for other ASUS RGB peripherals.

The ASUS ROG Zephyrus S GX701 will come bundled with an ROG backpack and an ASUS ROG Gladius II mouse. The first 20 who will pre-order the top-end RTX 2080 variant of the GX701 will get several more bundled items worth PhP 17,000. Pre-orders will start on March 1 until March 10, 2019.
