Asus have been known to be innovative in the products they have shown and showcased during the years. Last week, Asus showcased that prebuilt desktops are still in.
The showcase includes the ROG GR8. This compact PC is part of the popular Asus’ subbrand Republic of Gamers only have a chassis of 2.5 liters. Check out our review of this small but a beast of a machine here.
On the other hand, the Vivo PC is a small form factor that looks a lot like your normal set-top box. Occupying a space smaller than an A4 paper, the Vivo PC can be mounted via VESA mounts underneath desks, behind TVs or monitors or have it to be a centerpiece on your living room. Unlike other pre-built PC, the Vivo PC can be customized with the storage and memory being able to be changed to the user’s preference. It could easily accomodate a 3.5″ desktop HDD, or two 2.5″ HDDs or SSDs. Memory could be easily upgraded up to 16GB. It is one of the most beautifully compact designed desktops we have seen.
For those who are looking for the that best Chrome OS experience, Asus gives you the Chromebox. This box is ultimately powered by an Intel Core-i7 processor for speed and further enhanced with 4GB of RAM and 16GB of SSD sweet storage.
Last but not the least, if the VivoPc is still too bulky for your taste, then the Asus VivoMini will be your choice. It will be powered by Intel Core-i processors and will be further equipped with 4GB of RAM and could be upgraded up to 16GB. Storage will be handled by a 32GB mSATA SSD which could also be upgraded to a 256GB variant. It will be able to support 4k resolution displays and will only be operating on 18.5db and would only be consuming 6.95W at idle mode.
