ASUS showcases its range of gaming monitors

ASUS is ramping up their range of gaming monitors this year. In addition to their existing PG and XG gaming monitors, they are adding budget-friendly options such as the VG series and their first 49-inch DFHD monitor, the XG49VQ.

The ASUS VG series

ASUS VG258QR.

Aimed at a budget-friendly segment, the ASUS VG series are monitors with fast refresh rates that offers gamers a chance to improve their gaming experience. The VG258QR and the VG278QR sports a lightning-fast 165Hz refresh rate and a 0.5ms response time.

The VG279Q, meanwhile, sticks to a traditional 144Hz refresh rate although its display is based on an IPS panel. This means that viewing angles won’t be a problem with this monitor.

All three monitors are compatible with AMD’s Radeon FreeSync that allows them to remove screen tearing from the gaming equation. Although not advertised, it has been mentioned that all three monitors have been tested to work with NVIDIA’s G-SYNC as well.

ASUS ROG Strix XG32VQR

If you’re looking to upgrade from a 24.0-inch or a 27.0-inch display, then the ASUS ROG Strix XG32VQR might be the monitor you are looking for.

With a 32.0-inch display, the XG32VQR sports a 144Hz refresh rate, 125% sRGB coverage, and AMD’s new and improved FreeSync 2 HDR. The display also supports DisplayHDR 400 for brightness and color accuracy.

ASUS ROG Strix XG49VQ

The ASUS ROG Strix XG49VQ is the brand’s foray into the 49-inch DFHD display space. Packing a massive 49.0-inch screen, the monitor comes with a total resolution of 3840 x 1080 with a refresh rate of 144Hz and a 4ms response time.

The XG49VQ also supports Picture-by-Picture mode that allows the display to split its massive display into three independent screens. ASUS has also thrown in 90% DCI-P3 coverage, 125% sRGB, and DisplayHDR 400.

ASUS Designo MX38VC

Aside from gaming monitors, ASUS also showed off their brand new set of ProArt series. First off is the ASUS Designo MX48VC, which has a curved 37.5-inch 3440 x 1440 IPS display.

The display’s 10W speakers have been tuned by Harman Kardon and with help with ASUS SonicMaster, is sure to offer a better audio experience than most built-in speakers in monitors.

ASUS ProArt PA34VC

First spotted in Malaysia, the ASUS ProArt PA34VC mixes both work and play in one package. The display comes with a 34-inch 21:9 screen with a 1900R curvature and a 3440 x 1440 resolution as well as a 100Hz refresh rate.

Color accuracy is the utmost importance in all of ASUS’ ProArt monitors. The ProArt PA34VC comes out of the box already calibrated with a delta E color difference of 2.
