Cleaner builds might be coming in the future as ASUS showcases its BTF range at Computex 2023. The build shows off a concept Z790 motherboard and an RTX 4070 BTF Edition. Also present at the showcase is the already released TUF Gaming B760M-BTF WiFi D4 motherboard that moves all its connectors at the rear.
The ASUS BTF build shows off the next generation of PC building by hiding all the connectors at the back of the motherboard. The brand has not unveiled what Z790 motherboard they are using but we expect it to be a TUF variant that might hit the market soon.
One of the more interesting pieces in the build is the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 BTF Edition. On the surface, it looks like a regular triple-fan RTX 4070 until you notice the extra pins near its PCIe slot. It seems to be the passthrough for its 8-pin power connector that is now located at the back of the board.
The only “cables” visibly hanging within the case are the tubes for its TUF all-in-one liquid cooler. This seems like a step forward for PC builds in general but with limited options for now, it might be quite a while until this trend starts becoming mainstream.
