It seems that ASUS is implementing their ScreenPad 2.0 on their mainstream lineup. The brand has announced that the new versions of the VivoBook S14 and S15 will now be sporting ScreenPad 2.0.
Like the previous VivoBook S series, the new VivoBook lineup comes in a range of colorful chassis. Composed of two VivoBook S14 models (S431 and S432) and two VivoBook S15 (S531 and S532), these ultrabooks now come with the ASUS ScreenPad 2.0 technology to boost productivity.
This refresh of VivoBook notebooks will come with a few enhancements. Depending on the model, the VivoBook S14 and S15 may come with an Intel Core i7 processor and an NVIDIA GeForce MX 250.
The CPU and GPU are complemented by up to a 1TB PCIe SSD and the latest WiFi 6 (802.11ax) standard. These notebooks will also come with an IR camera; the first notebooks to do so.
As mentioned, the VivoBook S14 and VivoBook S15 will arrive with the updated ASUS ScreenPad 2.0. The latest iteration of the ScreenPad comes with a larger 5.65-inch display and is now powered by the ScreenXpert software.
Acting like a secondary screen or a shortcut menu, the ScreenPad 2.0 will allow its user to boost productivity with features such as a dedicated Number Key, Quick Key to enable macros for quick actions.
The new ScreenPad 2.0 is also more power efficient compared to the previous version. ASUS is saying that the new model allows the notebook to last 2.5x longer compared to previous variants.
The VivoBook S14 and S15 are a bit more colorful compared to the ZenBook Pro Duo and other ZenBook models. Every SKU will be available in Moss Green, Punk Pink, Cobalt Blue, Transparent Silver, and Gun Metal.
Aside from varying colors, the NanoEdge screens of both the S14 and S15 now takes up to 88% screen-to-body ratio with up to 5.2mm-thin bezels. This allows the notebooks to deliver an immersive viewing experience.
