ASUS has brought in their suite of Z890 motherboards for Intel’s Core Ultra Series 2 processors. All their boards are now designed to meet the demands of AI-driver workflows, high-performance DDR5 memory, plenty of storage options, and faster workloads.
These new range of motherboards will also come with AI-exclusive features such as the ASUS AI Advisor – an AI powered assistant for real-time hardware guidance. This can help both beginners and enthusiasts achieve better performance.
Four of their models, the ROG Maximus Z890 Extreme, Apex, and ProArt Z890-Creator WiFi) will come with dual PCIe 5.0 x16 slots for multi-GPU setups required for intensive AI tasks.
Select Z890 motherboards including the Maximus Z890 Extreme, Hero, and ROG Strix Z890-E Gaming WiFi, will come with the brand’s new NitroPath DRAM slot to achieve higher memory overclocks. They claim that this technology improves slot retention force, reduces noise interference, and optimize data transfer speeds.
The Z890 platform will support the new Clock Unbuffered DIMM (CUDIMM) kits that feature an integrated clock driver for improved stability at higher speeds. ASUS’ AEMP III makes optimization of modules easier with speeds supporting up to DDR5-8000.
Intel’s latest platform will also support Thunderbolt 5 with up to 80GBps of bi-directional bandwidth nad 120Gbps with Bandwidth boost, to support up to 8K displays at 60Hz. For wireless connectivity, these will also come with WiFi 7 that can reach up to 6.5Gbps with MLO, 4K QAM, and access to 320MHz channels.
For builders, the experience is made easier with a new BIOS interface and a Q-Dashboard that maps the board for easy navigation. There’s also the brand’s Q-Release mechanism that lets you unlatch the GPU and the M.2 drives with ease.
