Formally announced back in February, the ZenFone 5 series have still yet to arrive in stores. In Taiwan, the ZenFone 5 series will be launched today, April 12, 2018. It’s pricing, however, has been leaked in a report with the main ZenFone 5 having a price of NTD 1,990 or around PhP 22,000 locally.
The ASUS ZenFone 5 is the first smartphone that has a notch in the brand’s lineup of smartphones. Its notched display is a 6.2-inch display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2246 x 1080. ASUS has also reached a 90% screen-to-body ratio with the notched display. It is also capable of DCI-P3 wide color gamut, 500 nits of brightness, and is backed by ASUS’ AI Display and 2.5D Gorilla Glass.
Carrying over the spirit of the ZenFone 4 series, the ZenFone 5 will come with a dual rear camera setup; a 12MP primary shooter powered by a Sony IMX 363 sensor with an f/1.8 sensor with OIS/EIS, PDAF, Night HDR, 4K recording, and RAW file support. The secondary camera, meanwhile, is an 8MP camera which has a wide-angle 120° field of view. Here are the complete specifications of the ASUS ZenFone 5:
