Baldur’s Gate 3 Top-Down Camera – How To Fix Or Reset

-

In Baldur’s Gate 3, players may have encountered moments in which the camera went from the default isometric view to top-down view. You might be wondering how to fix this problem. Get to know how using this guide.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Top-Down Camera Fix

What you have just encountered is not a bug but an in-game feature called the Tactical Camera. You might have mistakenly pressed the corresponding button as you navigate the world of Baldur’s Gate 3. To return your camera from top-down to the default angle, follow the steps below:

For PC (Keyboard)

To return to the default camera position, simply press “O”. You can press the button again to return to Tactical Camera. Note that you can change the key binding for this via the game’s settings.

Tactical Camera is not accessible via a controller. Only the keyboard has access to this view.

What Is The Tactical Camera?

As the name implies, the Tactical Camera angle allows you to clearly see which units are involved in the field. Seeing the battlefield from the top grants you good access to positioning, allowing you to carefully place your characters where they need to be. However, you may have problems determining clearances and height from this view so best mix them up to prevent blind spots and other disadvantages.

While you can still manipulate the view using the usual buttons, the top-down view remains fixed, requiring you to press the “O” button again to reset to the angled view.
