After a long time of waiting, Battlefield 6 is finally revealed and it is confirmed that the next game in the franchise is Battlefield 2042. Not to be confused to the more futuristic Battlefield 2142, Battlefield 2042 looks like a mish-mash between futuristic weapons and current modern arsenal.
Shown in the trailer are maps and elements that may be familiar to most players. For instance, maps reminiscent of the classic Damavand Peak were shown. One thing very notable is the number of players slaughtered showcased on screen.
We also get to see the scale of the number of players. It has been confirmed through official sources that the game will have 128 players on the PC, Xbox Series X/S, PS5; while the PS4 and Xbox One will have their players counts capped at 64
You can also see that the developers have decided to embrace the kookiness of Battlefield with an jet plane + eject move being performed. The trailer ends with dynamic destruction accompanied with a huge tornado sucking everything (including hapless players) to it.
Gameplay reveal or footage is set to be made public on June 13, 2021. According to the official Press Release, Battlefield will launch on October 22, 2021. EA Play members will get a 10-hour trial starting on October 15, 2021.
