BYD Cars PH, in collaboration with ACMobility, has brought in the BYD Seal 5 DM-i – a sedan tailored for practical and first-time car buyers. This EV promises a premium driving experience with its large battery and extensive electronics.
The BYD Seal 5 DM-i measures in at 4,780mm in length, 1,495mm in height, and 1,837mm in width. Its wheelbase is measured in at 2,718mm that promises stability, and contributes to a spacious interior. Outside, the EV comes with bold LED headlights and full-width taillights for enhanced visibility.
Inside is a 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen with an intuitive interface. Its premium variant will come with an 8-speaker sound system, though the base model will also come with Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The 2 variants will also come with an 8.8-inch LCD digital gauge with easy-to-read information.
Its Dynamic trim comes with an 8,3kWh BYD Blade battery that promises an electric range of 50km. Its motor produces 179PS and 316Nm of torque, which accelerates it from 0 to 100km/h in 7.9 seconds.
On the other hand, the Premium Model has a larger 18.3kWh battery with electric range of up to 115km and a boosted motor with 197PS and 325Nm of torque that lets it reach 0 to 100km/h in 7.3 seconds. Both are electronically limited to a top speed of 185km/h.
For total range, the Dynamic reaches up to 1,175km while the Premium model extends this to 1,240km.
The Seal 5 DM-I comes with a comprehensive set of safety features including a rear camera, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, Electronic Brake Distribution, Hydraulic Brake Assist, Traction Control, Hill Hold Control, ABS, and six airbags.
The BYD Seal 5 DM-i priced at PhP 948,000 and PhP 1,198,000 for its Dynamic and Premium models, respectively. It will be available in Quartz Blue, Arctic White, Cosmos Black, and Harbour Gray colorways.
The sedan is bundled with an 8-year or 160,000km (whichever comes first) warranty for its BYD Blade battery, an 8-year or 150,000km (whichever comes first) warranty for the drive unit, and a 6-year or 150,000km (whichever comes first) vehicle warranty.
