The Canon imagePRESS V1000 next-generation production printer is now in the Philippines to serve businesses. It promises more versatility to open new business opportunities for commercial and in-house print service providers by allowing production of a wide variety of media on an extensive range of applications.
The imagePRESS V1000 focuses on task automation by ensuring effortless color repeatability and registration alignment. There is an inline spectrophotometers to allow operators perform advanced color adjustments like linearization, color profile creation, G7 calibration, and color validation in a shorter amount of time and minimal intervention.
Canon is implementing a new precision registration technology to help operators ensure the alignment of duplexed sheets remain accurate and consistent during long production runs. An optional sensing unit automatically detects prints with mismatched color settings and adjusts accordingly.
There are two front-end controller options for the imagePRESS V1000 – the PRISMAsync Print Server and imagePRESS Server D3000. The former helps boosting production capacity and provides a common workflow across Canon’s production printers, streamlining multi-color setup functionalities with its Automated Color Task feature, and hands-off automation. The latter is powered by a Fiery FS500 Pro system software and adds new functionalities to include familiar workflow and prepress features, while its Express Media Color Manager and Auto Recall combined with the ILS delivers faster color management.
It comes with an integrated POD-SURF (Surface Rapid Fusing) to maintain a consistent print speed of 100 ppm on coated and heavy media types of up to 400gsm. Its optional Multi-Drawer Paper Deck when with the Bypass trays boost the paper input capabilities to create a wide array of premium applications.
Remote alerts allow operators to change media, toner, and remove toner waste while keeping the device running for optimal productivity.
Canon says that the printer is outfitted with a innovative cooling system that coolers paper immediately after fixing for optimum print quality and minimizing the risk of waste due to warping, sticking, or bricking. A new transfer technology creates the ideal transport path for each sheet of paper during the printing process and ensures even color distribution when operators switch media with different weights while printing.
