Converge ICT Solutions has been named the “Fastest Internet Service Provider in the Philippines” by Ookla for the second hand of 2023, dethroning the competition who held the title for the past five years.
The telco cemented its dominance in the user-initiated speed test from Ookla. According to Ookla, Converge was able to average 459.56Mbps in Q3 and Q4 2023 surpassing the speeds of its competitor at 365.19Mbps.
Video and gaming experience booster customer satisfaction toward Converge after it scored 86.58 and 88.27 at Video and Game Scores, respectively.
Its previous accolades from Ookla include the best ISP Video Experience in the Philippines during the second half of 2022, Top-Rated Fixed Network in the Philippines during the fist half of 2022, and Most Consistent Fixed Internet Provider at eleven regions in 2021.
“What we’re seeing is a changing of the guard in the industry and this comes as no surprise given our hard-earned investments into our fiber network. In the end, service excellence through innovation and technology ruled the day,” shared Converge President and Co-Founder Grace Y. Uy.
Convege is currently operating the largest Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) network in the country boasting a fiber footprint over 682,000 kilometers. It now has 7.9 million fiber ports deployed and coverage extending to 77.85% of the Philippine population. They have also exceeded two million residential subscribers before the end of 2023.
The company has invested in the Bifrost Cable System; the first trans-Pacific cable connection Southeast Asia and the west coast of North America; and the SEA-H2X Submarine Cable System that connects the Philippines to Hong Kong and Singapore. These investments are expected to increase the country’s Internet capacity, bandwidth, and network diversity in the coming years.
Aside from being named as the new fastest Internet provider in the Philippines, Converge ICT has also signed a Master Provisioning Agreement with DITO Telecommunity to share optical assets. The resource-sharing agreement promises to strengthen both networks, expand coverage, increase redundancy, and reduce operational cost and capital expenditure.
