You may or you may not have experienced this yet but there’s a link doing the rounds on social media today that can crash almost any smartphone, just by opening it in your browser.

The obviously named [Be warned, click the link and it will crash your browser even Chrome] does what it says on the URL. It crashes the browser by writing thousands of characters on the address bar eventually overpowering the memory.

If you’re a web developer, the attack consists of only just four lines of code, and can cause your iPhone or any smartphone to crash both Safari or Chrome, until you reboot the device itself. It even works against some desktop browsers, depends on the RAM of the device.

People are sending this link all over social media and even disguising it through url-shorteners to make it more click-bait. The bug isn’t exactly malicious or dangerous, it doesn’t break anything except your patience.
