Having a small space for a workstation is tricky if you want to add some quality speakers, one qualification we set if we were to install one in our work nook is that it has to be Hi-Fi already. Enter the Creative T60 HiFi 2.0 Speakers, ideal speakers for your workstation that can bring quality audio and added functionality.
The Creative T60 Speakers is a stereo speaker with HiFi capability thanks to its built-in digital amplifier plus Creative’s soundblaster software to process audio. Compared to other speaker brands, this one has an edge versus others by providing flexibility of multiple connectivity and even audio procession.
Enter 1990s with the traditional design of creative of implementing a full piano black finish plastic on a small tower style speaker. A large speaker driver can be seen right front and center with the right speaker having controls for the volume, mode, surround sound and clear dialog quick switching depending on the scenario.
At the back are the ports for connectivity including a 3.5mm audio jack, dedicated microphone jack, USB Type-C port, AC-Adaptor for pairing with the left speaker and the 18W power adapter DC port. You need to connect one wire to the right speaker from the left to pair the speaker, though this is simple the wire is a bit thick so you will need to use cable ties to mange the clutter.
A small air chamber can also be seen at the back for exaust of the bass production. Plus a nice grill type design that makes it tactile to touch.
The speakers are fairly light for its size with a bit of weight only to be stable when playing audio. We like the angled design that makes it more modern and stands out from the usual desktop speakers of 1990s, we think Creative did justice on this one in making it 2023 adept.
The Creative T60 Speakers are meant to be used for workstations that needs audio quality, the 30W speakers is stable enough to fill a room like a 20sqm room easily. This can even amp up even up to 60W when amplified, but we think keeping the volume at 80% is the best scenario to avoid distortion already,
Not only for playing music or movies, the Creative T60 is also thoughtfully designed to be a companion for conference call workers with its SmartComms software, enabling a noise cancellation for the speakers so you can do conference calls with its built in microphone port and use your ideal microphone.
At the front are two buttons that you will press from time to time, the surround sound effect that makes the audio more thinner but speads out for a decent surround effect. Compared to the non surround and surround mode, we prefer the mode turned on when watching movies with dialect, but not for music.
A clear dialogue button is also at front which enables noise cancellation and enhanced voice production for conference zoom calls. So its a nice touch that the speakers is not against your work.
Audio quality wire the Creative T60 speakers tends to lean on the high notes cause of its lacking of a dedicated subwoofer. Nevertheles the speakers are still clear and produces warm tones especially in the mid tones. Just a heads up that the bass is a bit “airy” in this case, so if you are spoiled in bass you might be looking for it on this one.
Music with strong vocals and instruments are naturally strong for this speaker, especially watching drama series. Speach is very audible, while sound effects like rumbling noise will be just a bit muffled already as the bass chamber isn’t that prominent to produce a wide range of sound.
While you can also connect via USB Type-C or 3.5mm audio jack, overall the Creative T60 for us is ideal for bluetooth mode since we use a laptop to pair audio with.
If you want a speaker that can satisfy your needs for quality audio, especially to fill a small workstation or nook, then the Creative T60 speakers can definitely a better choice versus cheap speakers in the market. Retailing for Php4,750 in Lazada, the Creative T60 is a decent investment especially if you are a work from home person cause of its added functionality of fast changing mode for the clear dialog mode.
