Big Terminators inside a big box. The Crux Terminatus Battleforce box set has just been announced and it comes with loads of goodies inside – Terminators. Coming in with a whopping 18 Terminators, we also get to see the newly announced Assault Terminators packaged with it. But with all that said, is it actually worth it? Let’s break down the contents of the box, discounts, and see what we’re going to get per model.
As per the preview, we can deduce the contents of each box:
Total of 21 miniatures inside the Crux Terminatus Battleforce box set. The new Assault Terminators and the new Company Ancient in Terminator Armor will be released first as part of this box set.
The Crux Terminatus box set will be company agnostic and can be used as Terminators for the different Space Marine companies in Warhammer 40,000. A transfer sheet for the popular factions are included in the box set.
Based on the previous battleforce releases, we can safely say that the Crux Terminatus Battleforce’s price upon release may hover around US$230 Or £140. Note that this does not factor in the increase that GW mentioned in the past few weeks so expect the price to be the same or a bit higher than that.
Let’s factor in the price of stand-alone boxes and see how much we can save if we buy the Crux Terminatus Battleforce. This calculation only includes models and does not factor in the transfer sheet since each stand-alone box usually contains one.
Note that Terminator variants of Space Marines are a bit more expensive than their Mark X Tacticus Armor “normarine” counterparts.

If you purchase from the UK, you get a better deal with 33.43% discount (£210.30 vs £140). WIth that said, despite its relatively demanding price tag, you do save quite a lot if you purchase the battleforce compared to buying each stand-alone boxes..
Pre-ordering not only guarantees you a spot but often times also gives you a hefty discount when purchasing. You can do so by contacting your local hobby store and telling them of your intent to purchase the Crux Terminatus Battleforce upon its release. Depending on your store, you might be requested to deposit a bit of money to seal the deal.
Friendly Local Game Stores offer discounts when you purchase your GW plastic from them. Some times they do so even if you don’t pre-order. So if you want to grab a box like this one with a bit of a discount, best contact your nearest friendly store. Also, some stores offer more discounts if you purchase a lot from them.
If you think you have enough Terminators in your party, best split the box contents with a friend or two. The Crux Terminatus battleforce box has enough Terminators to fill two armies, and you likely already have some of the miniatures. Spread the wallet damage and ask a friend to share the burden.
