All weapons can be upgraded for better performance and damage. Upgrades can be done using benches scattered around the rooms of the Ishimura. Upgrades require Nodes and you need to spend these wisely to get the most of your favored weapons. This process is reversible but it does require a steep amount to take all of your Nodes off a weapon and to reapply them to another.

Although not listed, there is a secret weapon available in the game that you can only unlock by completing the game twice. This weapon can be quite hard to achieve as you need to finish the game in Impossible difficulty, which means that you must finish the game with only one life.
