There are three upgrades for the Flamethrower. Two upgrades can be obtained during your travels and another one can be bought from the store once you reach Chapter 4 of the game.
Although these upgrades can be missed, you can still get back to them during certain periods in the game. If you find yourself missing one or two, just head back and wait until you get to Chapter 10 to fully explore the Ishimura.

Upgrade Perk: Gellified Hydrazine – Fire Walls burn for much longer
To unlock this upgrade, simply interact with the shop after you get the Flamethrower in Chapter 3. You can buy this upgrade for $11,500.
Upgrade Perk: High-Pressure Nozzle – increases range of the Flamethrower’s Primary Fire.
This upgrade may be a bit tricky to find as you’ll need to stray from the beaten path to get this. In Chapter 7, after you meet Nicole, you’ll be tasked to activate Zero Gravity in the Equipment Maintenance Bay. Descend to ground level and navigate your way towards the wall until you see a security level 3 locked door. Enter the door to find this Flamethrower upgrade lying on the ground.
Upgrade Perk: Macroliter Fuel Tank – greatly increases fuel capacity
To get this upgrade, you must first complete the side quest “You Are Not Authorized” to get the Master Override Keycard. The Master Override Keycard allows you access to locked rooms and crates above security level 3 and the third upgrade for the Flamethrower is in one such crate. The locked crate is located inside the Deluxe Room in the Crew Quarters of the Ishimura.
Make weapons deadlier and perform better in combat through the use of upgrades. Weapon upgrades can be done by going to a bench and using a Node to upgrade a specific stat. You can also use a Node to unlock special perks that increases the effects of the weapon. This is a reversible process and you can pay credits to remove Nodes and to allocate them again to a different weapon.
