Three Upgrades In Total
There are three upgrades for the Force Gun. Two upgrades can be obtained during your travels and another one can be bought from the store once you reach Chapter 6 of the game.

Dead Space Remake Force Gun Upgrades – Where To Find
Completing all of the upgrades of the Force Gun requires you to do two of the three total side quests in Dead Space Remake. It can be quite troublesome but you do get a lot for the troubles as the Force Gun is one of the best weapons in the game.

Chapter 6
Upgrade Perk: Subsonic Oscillator – Gravity Wells now cause damage over time.
This upgrade can be bought immediately after you get the Force Gun. Just head over to the nearest shop and purchase this upgrade for $12,000.
Chapter 10
Upgrade Perk: Suspension Module – Gravity Wells last longer
This upgrade requires you to complete the side quest “Scientific Methods“. See it through till the end and follow the clues. This side quest ends at the Crew Quarters making it an easy pick up if you have managed to follow the quest line before you start Chapter 10.
Chapter 11
Upgrade Perk: Gravitic Amplifier – Gravity Wells have a larger radius
To get this upgrade, you must first complete the side quest “You Are Not Authorized” to get the Master Override Keycard. The Master Override Keycard allows you access to locked rooms and crates above security level 3 and the third upgrade for the Force Gun is inside one such crate. The locked crate is located in the area where you need to “Engage the Cargo Crane” in Chapter 11. After you descend the elevator, head straight until you reach the lone Guardian (Wall Necromorph). Defeat it and check the faint orange glow of the crate containing the Gravitic Amplifier upgrade just beside it.

Better And Deadlier Weapons
Make weapons deadlier and perform better in combat through the use of upgrades. Weapon upgrades can be done by going to a bench and using a Node to upgrade a specific stat. You can also use a Node to unlock special perks that increases the effects of the weapon. This is a reversible process and you can pay credits to remove Nodes and to allocate them again to a different weapon.
