DITO has officially unveiled their prepaid 5G home Internet solution – the DITO Home WOWFi Prepaid 5G WiFi. They are able to promise faster speeds at a lower cost starting at PhP 1,990 thanks to new technologies.
In partnership with Huawei, they are introducing 5G RedCap to regular consumers. 5G RedCap (or Reduced Capacity) lowers the cost of 5G by simplifying it and focusing more on data speed, lower latency, and improved power consumption. This condensation of features also allows DITO’s prepaid Home WiFi services to support more devices – up to 40 devices at the same time.
5G RedCap is originally meant for industrial use, but DITO is one of the first telcos to bring it into a consumer market. Performance is also helped as they are using a 5G standalone network in the Philippines.
Aside from 5G, DITO’s prepaid home WiFi router will supports WiFi 6 and 4 RJ-45 Ethernet ports so you can connect any type of device to your network.
The DITO Home WOWFi comes with a plug-and-play router, unlimited 5G data, and 50GB of 4G data for the first 30 days for its PhP 1,990 kit. Once you have the modem, their prepaid plans start at PhP 790 for 30 days with unlimited 5G and 50GB of 4G data.
