Dito Telecommunity, the 3rd major telco in the Philippines, will be launching their operations to the masses on March 8, 2021. Its coverage will rollout in a staggered manner with 17 areas in Visayas and Mindanao with Cebu and Davao cities among them.
On its launch on March 8, Dito will start offering their SIM cards in stores in Visayas and Mindanao. Theses SIM cards will have the prefixes 0991, 0992, 0993, 0994, 0895, 0896, 0897, and 0898. Online distribution for the SIM cards will also be available to order online.
Coverage provided by Dito, however, will only include 4G and 5G services. This means that older smartphones that only support 2G and 3G signals won’t work for its SIM cards.
Despite nearing their alleged launch date, Dito has not yet announced any prepaid promos nor any postpaid plans for its future consumers. They have also not announced any partnership with major smartphone brands in the Philippines for smartphone plans.
Dito has also mentioned that they are on track in providing a minimum average Interent speed of 55mbps per second, which they will offer to its customers by 2024.
