Epson has unveiled the SureColor P20530 Photo Graphic Production Printer. As a direct upgrade of the SC-P20070, the SC-P20530 is made for professional photographers and graphic designers with increased efficiency and print precision.
The Epson SC-P20530 sports a 12-color UltraChrome PRO ink set, including new orange, green, and violet inks to deliver a wider array of colors and more accurate reproduction of Pantone colors than its ppedecessor.
The SC-P20530 contains a total of 9,600 nozzles and dedicated channels for photo black, matte black, and various gray inks for a more productive workflow with smoother gradiations and accurate texture reproduction. There’s also a new Black Enhanced Overcoat for deeper black reproduction and greater depth and contrast in images without the need for an exclusive ink.
The printer also boasts a 4.3-inch touchscreen display – an upgrade from the 2.7-inch hardware button found in its predecessor. Aside from Epson Cloud Solution PORT, they have added the optional Adobe Postscript to improve its reproduction of PDF files and faster raster image processor. They have also included an auto take-u system for easier handling of large print jobs.
Its carriage measures in at 1,626mm and offers improved flexible media handling and support for various media types ranging from basic bond paper, photo paper, transparent film, backlight film roll, and enhanced flow adhesive synthetic paper. It also comes with a high-speed auto-cutter, and is able to handle roll media via its spindle mounting with integrated tension adjustment.
Epson has designed the SC-P20530 to reduce environmental impact. It uses only 22.1g of plastic per liter and the new ink ack uses 92.3% les plastic per liter than traditional ink cartridges. The waste from ink packs is 80% lighter and 90% smaller per liter in volume to reduce plastic waste. The hardware itself is also made of over 30% recycled plastic.
Additionally, the life cycle assessment of the printer shows a 50% reduction in CO2 emissions per liter of ink compared to traditional ink cartridges. The printer is also compliant with ENERGY STAR Version 3.0 to reduce power consumption when in sleep mode. Its increased ink capacity of 2.3x to 1.6 liters and larger usage ratio of recycled plastics allows it to save time and cost while reducing impact on the environment.
