In Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, players can find journals scattered across the game world, one of which is the journal of Expedition 40. Get to know the contents of this journal, where to find it, and more using this guide.
Expedition 40’s journal can be found on an island near the Paintress. Players can access this location once Esquie gains the ability to break corals. The journal is nestled between tents and is next to a Gestral merchant.
Avril, 40th Expedition
Gigi and Edmond were leading. They were on a clean glide to the Monolith when they flew into some sort of barrier and just… gommaged away.
Our gliders are useless without a way past the barrier. Bernard is going to explore on foot, see if there’s an entrance. In the meantime, we might as well make ourselves at home.
I guess I’ll try my hand at fishing. Assuming those sea nevrons left any fish for us to eat.
Rest in peace, Gigi and Edmond.
Collecting Journals is not for naught! Once you collect a good amount, you can exchange them for those tasty Colour of Lumina. And it’s not a small amount either, you can get about 100 Colour of Lumina if you collect enough and exchange them at the Gestral Village. You can find this Gestral by turning left and heading towards the Gestral Bazaar once you pass the village gates.
As they were mostly written by members of previous Expeditions, journals explain a lot about the world of Clair Obscu: Expedition 33. These journals contain discoveries, horrors, and even triumphs of those that went before Expedition 33. Collecting them might be optional but if you really want to learn more about the world, you may have to explore a lot while keeping your eyes peeled.
Curious about the best ending for Expedition 33? Wonder know more as we have a handy guide for that.
On the other hand, we can help you in finding the other journals using this handy journal list.
