Expedition 45’s journal can be found in the Crushing Cavern, an optional location. You must have unlocked Esquie’s ability to swim to get to this location.
It is recommended that you prepare when entering this location as you will immediately be greeted by a boss encounter, the Giant Sapling. After defeating the Giant Sapling, head straight to the opening from where the Giant Sapling spawned. Use the tether and climb up, then take the path to your left. The journal of Expedition 45 should be to your left, beside a bloodied boulder.

Collecting Journals is not for naught! Once you collect a good amount, you can exchange them for those tasty Colour of Lumina. And it’s not a small amount either, you can get about 100 Colour of Lumina if you collect enough and exchange them at the Gestral Village. You can find this Gestral by turning left and heading towards the Gestral Bazaar once you pass the village gates.
