In Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Sciel can play as either support or as a reliable nuker if given a decent weapon. Her gimmick with Foretell, Sun/Moon, and Twilight allows you to dish a good amount of damage while also applying buffs that can change the flow of the fight. Sciel’s Foretell mechanics can spell the success and disaster of any fight. Certain skills apply “Foretell” and doing so generates Sun Charges. Using skills that consume Foretell generates Moon Charges. Whenever Sciel has Sun and Moon Charges, she enters “Twilight”, a state that applies several effects which include increased damage depending on the the number of Foretell consumed. Use weapons that passively increase Sciel’s Foretell generation and/or consumption so she will always be in the best condition during fights.
A good number of Sciel’s weapons grant bonuses during Twilight. If you choose to do maximize the Twilight state, make decisions and choose skills that would always ensure that Sciel reaches that state quickly. Note that the Twilight state does not last very long and is by default only two turns. So, if you wish to get the most out of those Twilight turns, then equip weapons that have good synergies with the Pictos that you currently have. As a tip, you can also carry Pictos that grant you extra turns.
To fully maximize each weapon, they must be upgraded to higher levels. The higher the level, the better the stats. Aside from better numbers, you also get to unlock three passive abilities with each weapon, granting the user incredible advantages in the battlefield. As mentioned, upgrade resources may be scarce in the early and middle parts of the game so choose wisely when upgrading a weapon.
