In Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, players can find journals scattered across the game world, one of which is the Survivor Journal. Get to know the contents of this journal, where to find it, and more using this guide.
The Survivor’s journal can be in Old Lumiere. You have to return to this area after your encounter with Renoir to get this journal. Upon entering Old Lumiere, head over to the flag and fast travel to “Left Street”. Once you arrive, turn left, go down the path and go through the doorway guarded by a Nevron. After going through the doorway, turn right and head to the edge. Walk down the sewage pipe then use the hole to drop down. Use the “Old Key” that you acquired during the start of the game to open the door and get the elusive Survivor journal.
The Old Key is a prize that you can acquire during the first few minutes of the game, right before Expedition 33 is sent out to the continent. However, as this is a missable event, you can miss getting the Old Key and that would prevent you from getting the Survivor journal. However, if you did forget getting it, fret not as you can do so again. you just need to start the game again from New Game Plus.

The Brigadiers are overdue from their mission to the Monolith and we’ve lost half our remaining fighting strength to these creatures and their relentless assault.
All adults have taken up arms, but I’m a bookkeeper, what am I supposed to do? Count them before they slaughter me?
We’ve hidden the children. At least they’re warm and dry in the cellars, but rations are running low. Things are calmer now at the hospital, but that’s because most die before we can get to them.
I guess I’m living out of pure stubbornness at this point. Survival isn’t really survival anymore.
Everyone’s so quiet lately, afraid we’ll draw attention. Sometimes I talk to myself just to hear another human voice.
Trevor, you promised I could die before you. You promised.
Collecting Journals is not for naught! Once you collect a good amount, you can exchange them for those tasty Colour of Lumina. And it’s not a small amount either, you can get about 100 Colour of Lumina if you collect enough and exchange them at the Gestral Village. You can find this Gestral by turning left and heading towards the Gestral Bazaar once you pass the village gates.
As they were mostly written by members of previous Expeditions, journals explain a lot about the world of Clair Obscu: Expedition 33. These journals contain discoveries, horrors, and even triumphs of those that went before Expedition 33. Collecting them might be optional but if you really want to learn more about the world, you may have to explore a lot while keeping your eyes peeled.
Curious about the best ending for Expedition 33? Wonder know more as we have a handy guide for that.
On the other hand, we can help you in finding the other journals using this handy journal list.
